Nation's Capital Walk for Literacy 2006

Catholic Charities was one of two groups with the largest number of walkers registered at this year's Nation's Capital Walk for Literacy on Saturday, September 23rd.

Walkers representing Catholic Charities included students, volunteers, staff, and parishioners from St Matthew's Cathedral.  More than $900 was raised just from the walkers and the total including corporate sponsorships is still to be determined.  The adult education staff would like to extend a huge thank you to all supporters of the Walk.

Tiffany Groff, this year's Walk for Literacy coordinator, commented, “There was a lot of energy in the air that morning as we walked together proudly displaying the Catholic Charities banner.  All of the participants truly enjoyed the event and we felt special knowing we were supporting one of the best adult education and GED programs in the city.”
