2024 Thanksgiving St. Maria’s Meals
The tables were filled with guests and the plates were filled with a delicious Thanksgiving meal as more than 350 people celebrated the holiday as a community at the St. Maria’s Meals Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 26. The annual event hosted in partnership with Pepco kicks off Catholic Charities’ season of giving. Guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner at Pepco Edison Place Gallery in downtown D.C.
“The traditional Thanksgiving meal brings people together, which is important to all people no matter their circumstance,” Catholic Charities President and CEO Jim Malloy said. “That’s why we at Catholic Charities celebrate the holiday with those most in need of help and hope. Our staff members and volunteers who serve the meal express gratitude for their own blessings by providing for others.”
Pepco, which has supported the event since St. Maria’s Meals’ first Thanksgiving dinner more than 10 years, provided winter coats and toiletry kits for guests. “This wonderful tradition fosters a sense of hope and connectedness while providing guests with essentials, a warm winter coat and a hearty meal,” said Tyler Anthony, president and CEO of Pepco Holdings. “Through our partnership, we provide support to the people who need it the most.”
