Mt. Carmel House
Mt. Carmel House is a permanent supportive housing program for women recovering from homelessness.
About the Program
A warm and caring environment tucked into downtown Washington, Mt. Carmel House offers each resident her own bedroom. All residents work closely with our in-house case-management team to enhance their well-being. An on-site computer lab with Internet access allows residents to independently and, with guidance from staff, connect with needed resources and even secure employment. Workshops ranging from life skills, financial literacy, basic education, health and crafts to substance abuse are held regularly.
Founded in 1980, Mt. Carmel House has 21 individual rooms in three levels of floors plus a basement (no elevator), a full kitchen, dining room, lounge area, bathrooms, laundry room, as well as a private relaxing outdoor garden. To take a virtual tour of our Mt. Carmel House, click here.
